2015 Collection - $45 for a set of 4
In Fall 2015, we’re excited to release 12 sets of designer coasters. This eclectic catalog of new designs has something for everyone, and features artists such as April V Walters, and Liz Tan. The Collection will be available online and in stores throughout the country.
Custom Coasters - $49 for a set of 4
Since 2012 we’ve been specialists in Instagram coasters. Simply log in to our site with your Instagram name, and select up to 4 images. With our simple interface it’s fun and easy to make the perfect gift for a special friend or memorable occasion.
Also, in Fall 2015, we’ll be introducing a new Photo Upload feature, so customers can upload images from their desktop or phones, removing the need for an Instagram account to make a custom set.
Our kiln fired coasters are crafted using a highly absorbent ceramic blend created right here in the USA. This means they're incredibly durable, have a satisfying weight, and will soak up any drippy mess a cold glass might leave behind. They’re also backed with neoprene, so they stay in place and won’t scratch your surfaces.
Every one of our unique coasters is custom printed just for you. You can easily make a set featuring your own Instagram photos (mobile and desktop upload coming soon), or select from any of our fabulous designs. After printing, each coaster is sent through the kiln again, making sure the images on your coasters won't run, smudge or rub off. Even after years of use, they stay as bright and colorful as the day they were made.
In the spring of 2012, Tash Wong was working on an MFA in Interaction Design in New York City. In an Entrepreneurial Design course, she and a friend were tasked with creating something that would earn $1,000 a month. Because they loved Instagram and were interested in how the home and technology could come together, they came up with Coastermatic and passed the course with flying colors.
Since launch, Coastermatic has delivered thousands of coasters to happy retail and wholesale customers around the world. Today, Coastermatic is a woman-owned company run in San Francisco by a small team with Chief Coaster Officer Tash Wong at the lead.
Before Coastermatic, Tash worked as an Interaction Designer. She helped organizations such as The New York Times, The Rockefeller Foundation, and the NYC Parks Department create and clarify products and experiences for the people they serve. Tash holds an MFA in Interaction Design from the School of Visual Arts, where her thesis work focused on the development of a conversational framework for diverse teams.
